INLEIT POLICIES
Our Cookies Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are files that can be downloaded onto a device through web pages. They are tools that play an essential role in providing many information society services. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s or device’s browsing habits and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognize the user and improve the service offered.
Types of Cookies
Two types of cookies can be distinguished based on who manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained:
First-party cookies: Sent to the user’s terminal device from a computer or domain managed by the publisher and used to provide the service requested by the user.
Third-party cookies: Sent to the user’s terminal device from a computer or domain not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
Additionally, we can distinguish between session cookies or permanent cookies, depending on the duration they remain stored in the browser.
Finally, another classification includes four types of cookies based on their purpose: technical cookies, personalization cookies, analytics cookies, and behavioral advertising cookies.
Cookies used for the following purposes are exempt from compliance with the obligations set out in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI):
- Allowing only communication between the user’s device and the network.
- Strictly providing a service expressly requested by the user.
In this regard, the Article 29 Working Party, in its Opinion 4/2012 (Opinion 4/2012 on Cookie Consent Exemption, http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/article-29/documentation/opinion-recommendation/files/2012/wp194_en.pdf), interpreted that the following types of cookies are exempt:
- User input cookies
- Authentication or user identification cookies (session only)
- User security cookies
- Multimedia player session cookies
- Load balancing session cookies
- User interface customization cookies
- Certain plug-in cookies for social content sharing
Thus, these cookies are understood to fall outside the scope of application of Article 22.2 of the LSSI, and therefore, it is not necessary to inform or obtain consent for their use.
